Amy's Jamaica Trip!!

We left at 7:00 am and finally made it to Jamaica

at 8:00 pm that night!

On our way to the resort... Our ghetto shuttle. They

loaded all our suitcases through the back window.

We acted just like little girls! We had so much

fun at the water park, going down the slide all

together! We made a spectacle of ourselves,

but we didn't care!

The night life! They had a concert so of coarse we

had to get up and dance! We were the only ones up

there for a while, but eventually there was a

whole crowd of people! We took all the credit!

This was our matching shirt night! We bought these

shirts specifically to wear on our trip. Everyone was

looking at us all night, but again, we didn't care!

Karaoke Night! Of coarse we had to get up

and sing our hearts out!

Awesome! The weather was perfect and the water

was warm and beautiful!

The sunsets were so amazing!

It was fun to get dressed up at night and go to

the yummy restaurants. This particular

night, we started at the Chinese

restaurant for dinner, then decided we should

go to the Italian restaurant for dessert,

so on the way there, we passed through

the buffet and grabbed some of their

desserts too! We ate a lot, but I think we

laughed it off every day!

5 Years Old

Bjorn turned 5 last week so we had a party! Bjorn was so happy and excited! He loved helping me set everything up and kept saying "This is going to be the best party ever!" It was so cute and it made us happy to see him so excited! We had face painting, gunny sack races, pinata, and of coarse presents and cake! I think all the kids had a good time! Bjorn loves the disney show Phineas and Ferb, so we ordered a Phineas and Ferb cake from Smiths. We showed the cake decorator a picture of what we wanted and we were so happy with the way it turned out.

5 years goes by so fast! I can still remember Bjorn's first birthday like it was yesterday, and I'm sure I will always feel that way! He is growing up to be such a fun boy. He makes us laugh every day with the things he says. For example, last week we were driving in the car and he said "look at those big mountains. Is that where Jesus lived a long time ago?" I said "No, he lived in Jerusalem." Bjorn said "Jerusalem? That's a funny planet." :)

Some of his favorite things to do are ride his bike, play the Wii, draw pictures, play computer games, watch Phineas and Ferb, play hide and seek, play outside, and lots more!

I'm so happy he had an awesome birthday!

Ouch!

Isaac had a pretty bad fall the other day. I was running and he was sitting in our bike trailer stroller. I really like that stroller except it doesn't lock the kids in very good. Isaac just slips himself right out of the shoulder straps and turns himself around or tries to stand up. One of those times when he stood up I stopped, and he fell forward and slammed right on the road! It scared me so bad, but he only cried for a minute and then he was fine. He has a pretty big bump on his head to show for it. Throughout the day he will touch it and say "ouch". Hopefully it scared him enough that he won't try that anymore. I'm sure that won't be the last of the bumps and bruises, and honestly I'm surprised that this is the first time he has had an ouchy this big. He and Bjorn are constantly jumping off stairs, couches, counters, cribs, you name it. So it could be worse. I'm glad we didn't have our pictures scheduled for this week!

Camping!

One thing on our list of "things to do this summer" was to go camping. So finally, the last weekend in August we did it!! Our friends Ben and Kara came with us with their little boys. It was awesome! We had planned to go for one night, but as we were packing up our car and realizing how much work it was to go on this little adventure, we decided to go for two nights! We were so glad that we did! We weren't really roughing it and we didn't go too far. We went to a KOA camp in Provo. It was great for our first family campout. There was a swimming pool, playground, skatepark, and we weren't far from the store, which was good, because we forgot a few things! The first day, we went swimming, had dutch oven dinner/dessert, roasted marshamellows, fished in the river, and had fun talking around the campfire. In the morning, we had pancakes, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns... the works! It was awesome! That day we went up American Fork Canyon. We went to a little lake where the boys were able to go out in a canoe and do some fishing. Isaac had fun playing on the beach, which was not sand, but MUD. He was covered, but SO happy! Bjorn loved the canoe. He had his little fishing pole and Jason said he never stopped casting. They caught a fish and couldn't have been happier! Another highlight was taking the boys to the skatepark. Most of you know that Bjorn LOVES his bike and LOVES to do tricks! He is fearless, which is a little fearful for ME! I didn't know what Bjorn would do at the skatepark. I thought he would just go down in and ride around in the bowl, or whatever it's called. But he took off down one side and rode across, up the other side! He kept going and going and did not want to leave. He had a few falls, but nothing serious. He's on his way to being quite the trickster on his bike! We had such a great weekend! We especially loved having Jason with us for the whole weekend... NO WORK. That doesn't happen very often so it was nice. We are so glad we went and made some fun memories!

Isaac Moments

Isaac is growing up to be a funny boy! He is busy and curious, like most 18 month old boys. He loves to color but doesn't understand the concept of keeping it on the paper, like most 18 month old boys.:) Last month, I took Bjorn and Isaac to the Oquirrh Temple Open House. I had Isaac in the stroller and during the movie, I gave him a crayon and some paper to keep him busy. Once we went into the temple, we did a lot of standing and waiting especially since we had the stroller and had to take the elevators. Things were going along pretty smooth and I was feeling happy with myself for taking my boys on my own s

o that they could see what a temple looked like inside. I guess I needed to be humbled or something, because all of the sudden a women leaned toward me and whispered, "your son is drawing on the wall." I looked down and there was Isaac with that darn crayon, a RED crayon, drawing on the nice cream colored wallpaper. It was not a small scribble. He was really doing a number on the wall. My heart dropped and I immediately grabbed a wipe from my diaper bag, removed the crayon from his hand, and began my attempt to get the red mural off the wall. I could just hear everyone thinking "What is that mom thinking? Why would she give her child a RED crayon inside the temple?" I did the best I could, but I

could not get it all off. I told one of the volunteers to make sure someone knew about it and could clean it later. I could just hear her thinking "Yea. sure lady. just move it along." The rest of our temple excursion went fine and despite that little incident, I am glad we went. I wish I had a picture of the actual event artwork, but you'll just

have to use your imagination!

Decker Reunion 2009

Last week was our Decker Reunion. It was so much fun. We went to Park City for a week. Most of the time we had fun swimming, playing games, and talking which we love to do! One day we ventured out and we all went to Lagoon. Our kids had so much fun. We didn't know if Isaac would be afraid or if he would like the rides. Turns out he loved it. There was one ride that scared him, but Bjorn was riding with him and comforted him. One night, some of the boys went to the Bee's Baseball Game, while the girls stayed back and played games. We had an awesome 4th of July. We all gathered on the corner and did some of our own fireworks and had a perfect view for the big firework show. Thank goodness we didn't have any major mishaps. Just a minor one when Aaron accidentally threw a firecracker out in the street at the same time as an SUV was driving by. It was tiny and there wasn't any harm, but the couple driving decided they needed to throw a fit and come yell at us and curse at us in front of all the kids. Lame. We had a couple firesides during the week. We got a chance to hear from Ben who was recently called to serve as bishop in their ward. We heard about the Wallentines experience living in Belgium for a year and a half . We got to hear from Katie and Kenny who went to Germany after she graduated. We heard from Jason who just returned home from his mission and from Ryan who will be leaving in October for his! We also heard form Eric P who was recently chosen to try out for the US Open. Pretty cool stuff from all of them! All in all, it was an awesome week. I loved hanging out with my family. I wish we could do that more often! It's always nice to get home, but I miss being able to just wake up and see my whole family.

Dinosaur Museum

On Friday, the little boys and I had to go to Ogden to take some of our stuff to the Quilted Bear, so we decided (I decided) to make a day of it. I called my friend Jill and she met us at the Dinosaur Museum. We had never been there before but have heard a lot about it. I'm so glad we went. It was a really cool place. They had life size dinosaurs in the museum that move and make noises. That freaked Bjorn out at first but then he kept wanting to go back and see them. Inside they have tons of fossils and dinosaur bones. Outside they have trails with dinosaurs throughout. They have a little sand area for the kids to dig and a big playground. The kids were completely worn out by the time we left. We had been in the car about 5 minutes and Isaac had already fallen asleep! So, it was a pretty quiet ride home.
